The Perfect Family Friendly Thunder Over Louisville Experience at Kentucky Science Center

ThunderBlast offers an incredible view of the airshow, indoor amenities, and fun for the entire family

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LOUISVILLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS – Tickets for Kentucky Science Center’s annual ThunderBlast event are officially on sale. As always, ThunderBlast offers an ideal view of the airshow and fireworks, a covered viewing area in case of rain, exclusive food trucks, exclusive access to the Science Center all day, and hands-on activities for the entire family.

For years ThunderBlast has been a go-to for area families when choosing a Thunder Over Louisville location. Major draws for families include: a secure event accessible only to ticket holders; indoor restrooms; a smoke-free environment; safe and fun activities for kids led by Science Center educators; a range of food options; and access to the Science Center’s four-story theater.

“I can’t imagine a better place to see the fireworks if you have kids with you” said Gil Reyes, the Science Center’s Senior Manager of External Affairs. “Nowhere else offers 3-floors and a parking lot full of activities, and the chance to be inside if it’s too cold or too hot, and outside just in time for the show.”

ThunderBlast is also the Science Center’s largest family-friendly fundraiser of the year, with 100% of the event proceeds going to support their mission of furthering science literacy in the community.

Tickets to ThunderBlast are $50 for adults and $35 for children; Kentucky Science Center members save $10 off of each ticket. The Science Center and ThunderBlast gates will open at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 21st. Outdoor activities include inflatable bounce house, face painting, dance party, science demonstrations, and more. Food vendors exclusive to the event include: The Slinky Dog; The Big Cheesy; Chicago Taste Authority; Smokin’ Grub BBQ; Spotz Gelato; El Mambo; Ben’s Burrito Bowls; and Steel City Pops. 100% gluten free and vegan food options are available.

ThunderBlast is presented by Genentech, with support from Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Cochrane Supply. For more information or to schedule interviews, please contact Gil Reyes at [email protected].
