MAKER DAYS RETURNS TO KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER, NOVEMBER 15-16

In an ever-evolving world, empowering young adults with the knowledge and tools to engage in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) is more critical than ever. Kentucky Science Center is proud to announce a free virtual Youth Science Summit on Thursday, October 24 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, offering middle and high school students an inspiring opportunity to interact with industry leaders, explore cutting-edge research, and discover exciting STEAM careers.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER ANNOUNCES ANOTHER ‘SIPS & SCIENCE’ EVENT: AN EVENING OF 21 AND OVER LEARNING, SCIENCE, AND CRAFT COCKTAILS

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER EXHIBIT ‘WHO FORTED’ GETS RENOVATION SPONSORED BY BUFFALO CONSTRUCTION
Kentucky Science Center is excited to announce a new partnership with Buffalo Construction, Inc. to completely redesign and renovate the popular ‘Who Forted!?’ exhibit. The revamped exhibit is scheduled to open later this Fall, promising an enhanced and immersive experience for visitors of all ages.

LOCAL 4-YEAR-OLD TO DONATE BIRTHDAY FUNDRAISER CONTRIBUTIONS TO KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER
Kentucky Science Center is excited to announce a special presentation on October 3, when four-year-old Norah Nitzken will officially donate the contributions she collected in honor of her birthday. This inspiring young philanthropist invited family and friends to contribute to her birthday fundraiser in support of the Science Center, and her efforts will help further the center's mission to foster curiosity and learning in children and families across Kentucky.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER ANNOUNCES SCHOOL'S OUT SCIENCE CAMP FOR FALL BREAK AND ELECTION DAY 2024
Kentucky Science Center is excited to announce the return of its popular fall School’s Out Science Camp, offering engaging and hands-on science learning experiences for children during school breaks. This fall, Science Camp will run from September 30 through October 4 and again on November 5, giving students ages Pre-K through 5th Grade a chance to Do Science while school is out.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER PARTNERS WITH YOUTHLINK TO AWARD STEAM CARTS WITH SPONSORSHIP FROM SAMTEC
Kentucky Science Center, in collaboration with Youth Link Southern Indiana, is excited to announce the launch of more STEAM Cart placements for the 2024-2025 school year, generously supported by Samtec Cares. This initiative will bring hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education to schools in Southern Indiana.

FAMILY FAVORITE TOUCH A TRUCK EVENT RETURNS TO KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER
Kentucky Science Center’s upcoming Touch a Truck event, sponsored by Oxmoor Auto Group, will put families in the driver’s seat. Happening Saturday, September 14 from 10AM-2PM, guests will have the opportunity to get hands on with a variety of trucks and construction equipment, from front loaders to city buses. Adults and kids alike will have the chance to dream big as they discover their favorite vehicles and meet the community helpers who make them go.

Science in Play2Go, a miniature version of Kentucky Science Center’s signature Science in Play exhibit designed to travel around the state, will open at the Anderson Public Library on August 24th, 2024.

Science in Play2Go, a miniature version of Kentucky Science Center’s signature Science in Play exhibit designed to travel around the state, will open at the Garrard County Public Library on August 10th, 2024.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER ENTERS THIRD YEAR AWARDING STEAM CARTS TO COMMUNITY SCHOOLS WITH THE SUPPORT OF TOYOTA KENTUCKY
Students at two Kentucky schools will have even more opportunities to Do Science this fall. Kentucky Science Center and Toyota Kentucky have teamed up to provide MakerPlace STEAM Carts to the West End School in Louisville, KY and Spencer County Elementary School in Taylorsville, KY.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER DONATES OVER 14,000 ITEMS TO CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN KENTUCKY AND BEYOND
Kentucky Science Center celebrates donating over 14,000 items from their collections to organizations across the country, including the Kentucky Derby Museum, the Great Lakes Environmental Institute, and the Frazier History Museum.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER NAMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Kentucky Science Center recently named several new members to its Board of Directors. Hailing from a variety of industries, these new Board appointees will use their expertise to help lead Kentucky’s State Science Center, including its flagship location on Louisville’s Museum Row.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER INVITES MOVIEGOERS TO JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF AFRICA WITH NEW MOVIE, "SERENGETI"
Kentucky Science Center’s Theater has taken viewers around the world and beyond the stars; from the vast beauty of the Galapagos Islands to the prehistoric time of the dinosaurs, from the depths of the Pacific Ocean to the future of our world’s cities. Now, Kentucky Science Center is ready to journey with viewers to Africa. Serengeti: Journey to the Heart of Africa opens on July 5th in Science Center’s 4-story theater.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER TO HOST TECHNIQUE WEEK AT PURDUE POLYTECHNIC
Kentucky Science Center is proud to partner with Purdue Polytechnic for their Technique Week Sumer Camp, an exciting week of Maker and STEAM experiences in a college-level environment.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER SCHOOL’S OUT SCIENCE CAMP BEGINS MAY 27th
School may be out, but science isn’t! Kentucky Science Center School’s Out Science Camp runs for 10 weeks, beginning the week of May 27th and ending the week of August 2nd, 2024. Camps are offered for children Pre K- 8th grade and pricing starts at $300 per week. Extended camp hours are offered from 8:00AM-5:00PM which make pickup and drop-off convenient. All sessions have an exciting theme which engages and excites children!

LARUE COUNTY LIBRARY OPENS KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER’S SCIENCE IN PLAY2GO EXHIBIT
Kentucky Science Center is bringing its hands-on early childhood experience to another Kentucky library. Science in Play2Go, a miniature version of Kentucky Science Center’s signature Science in Play exhibit designed to travel around the state, will open at the LaRue County Public Library on May 18th, 2024.

SCOOTER'S COFFEE PARTNERS TO RAISE OVER $10,000 FOR KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER
Kentucky Science Center and Scooter’s Coffee teamed up in a successful partnership that raised a remarkable $10,215 in support of science education initiatives. The collaboration, which involved giving away eclipse glasses with the purchase of any coffee from Scooter’s, has not only raised funds but also heightened awareness about the importance of science education in the community.

KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER CELEBRATES ANIMAL HELPERS AT DOG DAYS
Kentucky Science Center’s annual Dog Days event, sponsored this year by Verizon, is back on May 10th and 11th and better than ever. This family favorite gives kids a chance to explore the ways dogs – and other animal friends, too! – are trained to help improve our lives both on the job and off. Stop by to meet some amazing creatures from a variety of animal care careers, then spend time exploring your Kentucky Science Center.
