Adult events are back at Kentucky Science Center. Our popular adult series, Eat, Drink and Do Science, returns October 15th with a Maker twist. Guests 21 and over will enjoy drinks, food, and the chance to try their hand at several Maker-themed activity stations as they solder, stitch, paint and laser their way through the evening. In addition, Kentucky Science Center staff will whip up alcohol-flavored versions of our liquid nitrogen ice cream and sorbet for a sweet treat to round out the night.
Many of the night’s Maker stations will have a take-home component. Guests will learn pour-painting as they decorate take-home coasters; experience laser cutting as they design keychains, dog tags, and other items; try their hand at screen printing on canvas bags; create a UV resin pendant that glows under blacklight; and explore soldering as they create an agate suncatcher. Macrame and 3D drawing will also be available.
Overall attendance for Eat, Drink, and Do Science – Maker Edition has been capped to allow for social distancing, and masking will be required except when guests are actively eating and drinking. Additionally, all guests must be fully vaccinated to attend. Vaccine status will be checked at the door and all attendees will be required to show a vaccination card with the final dose received no later than October 1, 2021 to be admitted.
“We’ve worked hard to design an event that will not only be fun, but will also include appropriate pandemic protocols,” says Kentucky Science Center Manager of Visitor Experience Andrew Spence. “I think we’ve achieved a great balance between ensuring our guests’ safety and providing them an exciting evening of hands-on activities that they’re sure to love.”
Eat, Drink, and Do Science – Maker Edition will be held Friday, October 15th from 6:00 – 9:00PM. Tickets are $45 per person and must be purchased in advance at kysci.org/programs/eat-drink-and-do-science.
