Kentucky Science Center’s upcoming Touch a Truck event, sponsored by My Big Little Adventure, will put families in the driver’s seat. Guests can visit Kentucky Science Center on Saturday, June 11th from 10AM-2PM to get hands on with a variety of trucks and equipment, from bucket trucks to city buses. Adults and kids alike will have the chance to dream big as they discover their favorite vehicles and meet the community helpers who make them go.
The event will be held in the parking lot behind the facility, located at the corner of West Washington and 8th Streets. Entry to Touch a Truck is free with regular admission to Kentucky Science Center. Advance tickets are recommended and can be reserved at kysciencecenter.org.
“Encouraging children’s natural curiosity inspires them to Do Science every day and everywhere” says Kentucky Science Center Chief Executive Officer Mike Norman. “Events like Touch a Truck allow kids to explore the real world in new ways by interacting with familiar vehicles and asking questions of their operators. By stimulating creativity and imagination, we hope to plant the seeds for a lifetime of learning.”
Trucks, heavy machinery, and other vehicles will be on hand courtesy of various community partners including Louisville Metro Fire Department, Louisville Metro Police Department, Louisville Water Company, Case Construction Equipment, UPS, and Louisville City Soccer Club in conjunction with TARC. Ion Jones and Captain Current – Kentucky Science Center’s resident science superheroes – will also be in attendance.
Touch a Truck is made possible thanks to the sponsorship of My Big Little Adventure, which offers a continually updated road map of activities, events and resources designed especially for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. New and existing My Big Little Adventure members will enjoy free admission to Kentucky Science Center on the day of the event.
