Spring Into Science with Kentucky Science Center

Spring Into Science with Kentucky Science Center

Guests can enjoy a variety of fun events and exciting programming all season long when they visit Kentucky Science Center this spring. From March 25th through the end of April, Kentucky Science Center is your one-stop shop for family fun with the opening of a new exhibit and the return of fan-favorite experiences.

The season kicks off with the return of Brain Days. Happening March 25th and 26th, Brain Days gives Kentucky Science Center guests the chance to interact with real local scientists, hack your nervous system, and celebrate all things neurological. With hands-on science demonstrations throughout the building courtesy of the University of Louisville, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and other partners, Brain Days takes your visit to the next level. Best of all, Brain Days activities are included free of charge with your Kentucky Science Center general admission.

Also happening during Brain Days is the opening of our new prototype 3rd floor exhibit, Uniquely Human: Thinking. With interactive activities that invite exploration of perception, implicit bias, intellectual humility, and mental health, our Uniquely Human: Thinking prototype exhibit encourages guests to discover their unique selves and develop empathy for a broader view of humanity.

This spring will see the return of one of our favorite events for the first time since 2019. ThunderBlast is back at Kentucky Science Center on April 23rd. ThunderBlast offers exclusive riverside views of the Thunder Over Louisville air show and fireworks from the Science Center’s 8th and Washington Street parking lot, plus a host of exciting activities indoors and out.

For guests looking for a great family movie experience, April 29th will kick off our Harry Potter Spring Film Series featuring all eight films shown on our 4-story, larger-than-life screen. Or step off the beaten path and connect to your inner trailblazer in a cross-country journey to some of the most beautiful but little-known landscapes of North America with our newest documentary, Into America’s Wild, debuting March 26th.

Our 50,000 square feet of space allows families plenty of opportunity to explore, experiment, and Do Science. Kentucky Science Center encourages masking to protect our youngest guests, some of whom are not yet eligible to be vaccinated. Space is limited for all events and programming, and advance tickets are strongly recommended to ensure availability. Secure your spot now by visiting kysci.org.
