Kentucky Science Center’s New Year’s tradition continues for another year with our rocket-themed celebration: “Launch into 2018!” As always, all activities are included in general admission or membership; no advanced tickets required.
Kentucky Science Center’s annual Noon Year’s celebration will take place December 31, 2017 and January 1, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Favorite activities like building and launching a paper rocket and launching film canisters using alka seltzer will be set up alongside special Noon Year’s activities that will include using rockets to pop balloons, and “Rocket Bling,” a design station that adds LED lights, helicopter blades, parachutes and more to your cardboard rocket design.
Each day also includes a science show that begins at 11:45 and counts down to noon, kicking off the new year for kids and families with a “massive” rocket launch in the Science Center lobby followed by performances from the new River Lotus Lions troupe.
RiverCity Rocketry, UofL’s team of student rocket engineers, will be on hand with their own materials and displays too! Join us for the best way to ring in the new year, without staying up past bedtime.
