Makerplace Family Workshops

Ages: For families and young makers (Boys and Girls are both welcome) Grades 3 and up.
Location: MakerPlace is located inside the Girl Scout building at 2115 Lexington Rd., Louisville, KY 40206

 

 

Family–friendly makerspace workshops led by a Kentucky Science Center educator at the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana.These programs are a great opportunity to get involved in the exciting makerspace movement. Girl Scout Workshops are tied to appropriate journey and badges.

Let’s Make a Thing Family Workshops

New to the world of making?  Sign up for one of these step-by-step workshops to create something fun and introduce yourself to the Maker Movement!  We’ll help you every step of the way – whether you’re soldering, sewing or laser-cutting!  This is the perfect beginner’s program to learn new fabrication techniques.  No experience required – just curiosity and creativity!

TIME: Saturdays, 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
COST: $15 per child
| $5 per adult

Explore how to communicate with a robot, build your own program and create a storyline on a computer.

Open Meeting & Making

Join the Maker Movement!  We meet every month to work on our own projects, meet other makers, find inspiration and learn new skills!  This meeting is open to the newly curious and seasoned makers alike.  Attendees are encouraged to come to learn a new skill set such as soldering, sewing, coding and more. Advanced makers are welcome to bring any existing projects or new ideas to get access to the right tools, knowledge, and materials! This is a Maker Resource for you.

TIME: Sundays, 1:00 – 4:00 P.M.
COST: $10 per child
