SUMMARY:MOVIE: Twister + the science of storm tracking
DESCRIPTION:Join us at 6:00PM for a presentation to learn about the science that goes into storm tracking with Dr. Jason Naylor before enjoying the movie “Twister” at 7:00PM. Tickets available here. \nDr. Jason Naylor is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geographic and Environmental Sciences at the University of Louisville where he teaches courses in support of the meteorology degree track. He received his PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of North Dakota in 2012 and has been at UofL since 2016. His research focuses on the behavior of violent thunderstorms as well as the hazards those storms produce. He currently has a 3-year grant from the National Science Foundation to investigate how large cities like Louisville may alter internal thunderstorm processes and the distribution of severe weather.
