Slime Recipes

Basic Slime

Ingredients- Glue (clear or white), Water, Liquid Starch, Spoon and Bowl Optional- glitter and food coloring

Instructions-  Mix together ½ cup of glue (using clear glue will make your slime clear!) and 1/2 cup water until combined completely. Optional, add food coloring, glitter, of confetti and mix together. Pour 1/4  cup of liquid starch into your mixture and start to stir. You will see it immediately start to bind together. *note you may need more starch if it is not starting to form together. Finally, start kneading your slime until it is a good texture! Store in a air tight container.

Chalkboard Slime

Ingredients- Glue (white), Chalkboard Paint, Liquid Starch, Bowl, Spoon, Chalkboard markers

Instructions-  Mix together 1 cup of glue and ¼ cup of chalkboard paint until you cant see any more white. Slowing add about 1/4  cup of Liquid Starch and mix together. Start kneading together with your hands (note, the paint may come off on you hands). Once slime is a good texture, start drawing! Store in a air tight container.

Puffy Slime

Ingredients- Glue (white), Baking Soda, Water, Shaving Cream, Contact Solution or Liquid Starch, Bowl, Spoon

Instructions-  Mix together 2/3 cup of glue, 1/2  teaspoon of baking soda, 1/4th cup of water until well combined. Optional, mix in food coloring. Mix in 2-3 cups or 1 can of saving cream (not gel) until well combined. Slowly mix in contact solution or liquid starch into the mixture (add a little at a time until it is the texture of slime you want). Start kneading with your hands for 5-10 minutes (Note, it is very sticky with you start kneading!). Store in air tight container.

Ghostbusters Slime *can be done at home, but is more complicated

Ingredients-Methylcellulose powder, Large pot, water, large metal spoon, stove, spatula

Instructions-  Add 1 gallon of water into your large pot and bring to boil. Stir in 5 oz. of the methylcellulose power into the boiling water and allow it to dissolve completely. Remove pot from burner and allow to cool overnight. The next morning the methylcellulose will be a oozy substance at the bottom of the pot. Pour off excess water and spatula out the gel into your container. This slime is VERY slimy and does not hold its shape very well.

Ingredients- Cornstarch, water, bowl, spoon

Instructions-  mix together 1 part water to 2 parts cornstarch. Mix together and play away!

Overall safety alert- Wash your hands before and after making and playing with slime! Always make and play with adult supervision!
