Kentucky Science Center’s ThunderBlast, Saturday, April 20th, is our annual family-friendly event during Thunder Over Louisville. With some of the best views in town for airplanes and fireworks plus fun-filled activities to keep the kids entertained, exclusive food trucks, clean indoor bathrooms, and exciting happenings inside and out, you and the family will have a BLAST!

ThunderBlast at the Kentucky Science Center is the only place where you can:

• Relax and watch the air show
• Cool off while you check out our indoor exhibits
• Enjoy delicious food and drinks from local vendors
• Do Science with our hands-on learning activities
• Experience inflatable fun in our outdoor play area
• Have access to clean indoor restrooms throughout the day

ThunderBlast attendees can add $5 movie tickets to their experience day of at check-in (or in advance by phone), including a 10:15PM showing of our newest movie, Cities of the Future. You’ll enjoy a 4-story theater experience – and miss out on all the late-night Thunder traffic, too!

What to bring to ThunderBlast:

• Backpacks no larger than 22 inches x 14 inches x 9 inches
• The transaction number located on your receipt for admission and theater tickets
• Lawn chairs and blankets (lawn chairs are not permitted in Kentucky Science Center; the only exception is for the 10:15PM film when a chair-check will be provided)
• Cash or credit card for food vendors, souvenirs, and movie tickets
• Identification/proof of age for purchase of alcoholic beverages
• Personal umbrellas (no golf umbrellas, standard size only), and
• Strollers (identified as having 1-2 seats with a small compartment in a mostly vertical stance)
• Small wagons are permitted (only outside)

Take your ThunderBlast to the next level with our limited capacity VIP Experience! VIP guests enjoy all the regular ThunderBlast fun, plus exclusive access to a waterfront tented viewing area complete with tables, chairs, portable restrooms, and handwashing stations. Each VIP ticket also includes 1 voucher for use with any food vendor and 2 drink tickets good for water, soda, beer, or wine.

All tickets are available while supplies last and can be purchased until 8PM on April 20th online or in person at the entrance to our 8th and W. Washington parking lot starting at 2:00PM on April 20th. All sales are final, and tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If the event is cancelled by Kentucky Science Center, tickets will be rebooked or refunded. This is a rain or shine event.
