Kentucky Science Center Year-Round Camps Fill School Breaks With Science Fun
Camps at Kentucky Science Center Run During Breaks and Snow Days
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Louisville and Surrounding Areas – at Kentucky Science Center, when school is out, camp is IN. That means winter break, snow days, and more. But Science Camp is more than just beakers and Bunsen burners; kids who come to camp at Kentucky Science Center do stuff like survey land, make maps, build a fractal of incredible detail, and build a robotic arm out of cardboard.
For winter camps, each week has its own theme with different activities each day. December Break Camps run from December 18 – 22, 2017 (Invention Week) and from December 26 – 29, 2017 (Everyday Engineers) and have offerings for Pre-K – 8th grade. Unlike summer camps, winter camps are “pay by the day” to allow for the flexibility families need during the holidays. Camps are $45 a day; $40 for Science Center members.
When JCPS cancels school because of severe weather, parents can visit kysciencecenter.org to view Snow Day Camp offerings. Contingent on the severity of weather conditions, Kentucky Science Center camps provide parents with a fun and educational option for their kids when school is out, but they are not.
