Make your holiday season merry and bright with Kentucky Science Center

Make your holiday season merry and bright with Kentucky Science Center

Make the most of the holidays with Kentucky Science Center’s annual Make Your Season extravaganza. From November 19th through New Year’s Day, we are your one-stop shop for family fun, with merry and bright décor throughout the building and excitement around every corner.

The season kicks off with the return of Who Forted?. Opening November 19th, Who Forted? is a fan-favorite building experience that encourages guests to use ordinary items in extraordinary ways. Using blankets, cushions, furniture, repurposed doors and other “found” objects, explore basic engineering, geometry, and design concepts as you create the perfect fort. Working together, the whole family can collaborate to build a play space as unique as you are.

Join us Friday, November 19th and Saturday, November 20th for Maker Days, sponsored by Lexmark and Kentucky EPSCOR. Maker Days gives guests the chance to ask questions of local STEAM professionals and learn how to translate your favorite Maker hobbies into the workforce. With special partner programming stationed throughout our 50,000 square feet of fun, you’ll have the chance to get hands-on with a variety of challenging Maker activities. Best of all, all the fun of Maker Days is included free of charge with your general admission.

Each weekend leading up to December 25th will also be full of seasonal fun. Register for one of our holiday themed MakerPlace workshops to create beautiful keepsakes to deck your halls or gift to loved ones. Or be part of our special family showings of Polar Express and Elf, all of which include a holiday treat and appearances by Frosty the Snowman for photos you’re sure to remember fondly in years to come.

Additional happenings include a sensory-friendly Fun with Frosty event and a member-exclusive Polar Express showing, complete with free popcorn, MakerPlace activity, and other fun surprises. Guests can also give the gift of science with our new digital gift cards, which can be used for general admission, gift shop items, memberships, camps, workshops, and events.

The season concludes as we ring in 2022 at the stroke of noon at our annual Noon Years party on December 31st and January 1st. It’s the perfect New Year celebration for families that can’t stay up until midnight. Enjoy all the activity stations from Make Your Season, plus the chance to explore the electromagnetic spectrum at a special science demonstration in our atrium. At the end of the show, join in on a 10-second countdown to welcome the Noon Year.
