Tickets are $5 per person and are available here. \n  \nKaila Adia Story is an associate professor in the Departments of Women’s\, Gender\, and Sexuality Studies and Pan-African Studies\, as well as the Audre ‪Lorde Endowed Chair at the University of Louisville. She is also the co-creator\, co-producer\, and cohost of Louisville Public Media’s “Strange Fruit: Musings on Politics\, Pop Culture\, and Black Gay Life\,” a popular award-winning\, 8 year  running podcast. Her research examines the intersections of race and sexuality\, with special attention to Black Feminism\, Black Lesbians\, and Black Queer identity. Dr. Story was named as an LGBTQ+ community leader and change maker as a part of NBC’s inaugural #Pride30\, as well as and recently\, Dr. Story was chosen as the 2022 Champion of Pride for the state of Kentucky by The Advocate. \nDr. Michael Brandon McCormack is Associate Professor of Pan-African Studies and Comparative Humanities (Religious Studies) and Director of the Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research at the University of Louisville. He earned his Ph.D. in Religion in 2013 from Vanderbilt University. His research explores the intersections between Black religion\, popular culture\, the arts\, and activism. He teaches courses in African American religion\, religions of the African diaspora\, and religion and hip-hop culture.  In 2021\, he was an inaugural Ascending Stars Fellow at the University of Louisville and an Academic Research Fellow at the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis. He is currently a member of the Black Interfaith Project\, a national network of academics\, artists\, and activists engaged in research and action around the role of Black religious and spiritual practices in movements for social justice.

SUMMARY:Eat\, Drink\, and Do Science - Maker Edition
DESCRIPTION:  \nMake plans to attend an adults-only evening event that includes food\, drink\, full access to exhibits\, and some of our favorite Maker activity stations. Pour\, cut\, solder\, stitch\, and laser your way through several take-home crafts\, and learn a new hobby to explore. Admission includes drink tickets\, heavy hors d’oeuvres\, and all activities and supplies. \nKentucky Science Center requires masks and proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination. For vaccines requiring a two doses\, second dose must be received no later than October 1\, 2021. As this is a limited capacity event\, no refunds will be provided for failure to produce this proof of vaccination upon entry. \nMore information and tickets available here.
