1:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M.: Scout Badge Workshop Activities
4:00 P.M.: Free Exploration in the Exhibit Spaces
ROUTINE WORKSHOP PROCEDURES
Arrival is from 12:45 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. Please arrive with your scout or troop/pact approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of your badge workshop. Check-in at the table located in the main lobby of the Kentucky Science Center. Once you are checked in, our education staff will lead you to a waiting area until the start of your badge workshop.
If you are running behind and arrive after 1:00 P.M. you will need to go to the front ticket desk and a member from our education team will meet you there to escort you to your badge workshop.
Once your badge workshop begins, your scout/s will have the opportunity to engage in hands on experiments and engineering challenges that will allow them to meet scout badge requirements. Scouts will receive a certificate of completion as well as a Kentucky Science Center patch at the end of the workshop session.
Scouts and their families will then have the opportunity to explore in the Kentucky Science Center’s exhibit spaces.
The Science Center lot is located at River Road and Eighth Street. Please enter the main entrance of the Science Center lot. Please take a ticket upon arrival into the lot.
Parking is $6 for Members and $8 for Non-Members. If you are a Member with the Kentucky Science Center, please see the front desk for your discount validation sticker.
WHAT TO BRING:
We ask that you have 1:10 ratio of adults to scouts.
Scouts may bring a water bottle.
Comfortable closed-toed shoes are highly recommended as the scouts will be participating in experiments and will have the opportunity to walk throughout the science center.
WHAT NOT TO BRING
We ask that your camper keep all electronic devices put away during the workshop.
Students will not be able to eat during class, please plan accordingly.
