Visitor Services Representative – Part Time
Visitor Services Representatives are the first contact our guests have at the Kentucky Science Center. A friendly demeanor and glowing attitude are a must. Successful candidates for this entry level position will have at least a High School Diploma, prior retail cash handling and service experience, the ability to work a flexible schedule and a desire to support informal education. Visitor Services Representatives work in areas including Ticket Desk, Gift Shop, Concessions, Advanced Sales, Theater, and Membership Sales.

Educator I – Part Time
This position is responsible for presenting educational programs, classes and activities to Science Center visitors with emphasis on school and group field trip audiences from public, private, home schools, and day cares. NEW! Operations Specialist – Full Time
The Operations Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of the Kentucky Science Center, including the interactive exhibits, physical plant and equipment, and rental activities. Key responsibilities include maintenance and repair of exhibits, physical plant and equipment; performing preventative maintenance and upgrades; supporting rental activities and functions; coordinating work with external contractors; and collaborating with staff to support the mission of the Kentucky Science Center. STEAM Specialist – Full Time
This position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of STEAM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) throughout the education department. This position will work with students and families from a variety of age ranges and demographics with the Kentucky Science Center and through offsite/outreach programs. This position will also serve on cross-functional planning teams to help develop, evaluate, and facilitate a variety of STEAM, maker and robotics experiences to a variety of audiences.Click here to download full job description.

Education Ambassador – Part Time
This part time position is responsible for onsite facilitation on the exhibit floors including, but not limited to way-finding, restaging exhibit components, assisting with prep of shows, programs, and demos; and facilitating questions related to exhibits and programming. The Floor Ambassador will participate weekly in a series of training modules facilitated by the Education floor staff in order to train on exhibit and floor facilitation.

Offsite Programs Specialist
This part-time position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of offsite program offerings. They will be expected to perform in a variety of settings that includes camps, assemblies, outreaches, and afterschool programs, mobile van based programs, demonstrations and science expos/ festivals. This includes but is not limited to day-to-day organization of: staff/volunteer training, logistics, registration, supply purchase, set-up and/clean-up, and program supervision. This position will also have the opportunity for professional development through participation on cross-functional planning teams to help develop, evaluate, and present new experiences to a variety of offsite audiences.

Traveling Van Program Coordinator – Full Time
The Kentucky Science Center’s Traveling Van Programs offer engaging science education programming in local elementary schools, community events and outreaches throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana. To coordinate that effort, the Science Center seeks an energetic, self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with dynamic presentation and relationship-building skills to maximize the program’s potential to reach children and families across the region.
