Pulse of Surgery

Program support from KentuckyOne Health, Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation, Greater Louisville Medical Society and Medical Society Professional Services.

Students can participate in live open-heart surgery – from almost anywhere!

A once in a lifetime chance to witness open-heart surgery as it happens – in real time! Students interact with the actual surgeons, nurses and other members of the surgical team at Jewish Hospital (a part of KentuckyOne Health) on screen broadcast directly from the operating room to Kentucky Science Center or to your school. Pulse of Surgery also highlights careers in medicine, the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices, and the technological advances that make medical feats such as the Coronary Artery Bypass Graft possible. Pulse of Surgery includes downloadable pre and post visit materials.
